Is your Child’s weight a concern?

It is not normal for a 1year old child to weigh 20kg, it is not normal for a 5 year old child to weigh 45kg, that is a weight for an adult.

Even children should be taught dietary discipline and moderation. Overfeeding for children can cost them their health. They should eat with hunger cues, draw out a time table that helps them eat appropriately

Don’t teach children to eat on impulse, to eat every time. It is an habit they carry into adulthood. This is the beginning of childhood and juvenile obesity. This is outside other digestive issues that comes with overfeeding children

Children can develop diabetes too especially children with a medical history where diabetes runs in the family. Overeating especially junk foods and refined sugar can trigger an increase in the rise of their blood sugar

There is something called “Ideal weight in children”. They should double birth weight at 6 months and triple birth weight at 1year. And they keep growing on a chart

The obsession for chubby babies and chubby children need to be checked. Some parents give their children drugs to make them crave food excessively. Some give them food everytime they ask including when they know they are not hungry.

Some heap so much food for that child to finish at a stretch…….This is bad, very bad for that child.

Children should eat healthy and with moderation. Alot of children became emotional eaters from this act. Everything is not food. Keep them engaged with the right things. This will help their health better
